Carter's 1st birthday party!

We celebrated Carter's 1st birthday on August 28th, it's so hard to believe that a year has gone by! Cater is such  a blessing...below are some pictures from him Elmo birthday bash!

Nashville for Aunt Sarah's wedding

We packed up the minivan and headed to Nashville last weekend to celebrate with the family, Sarah and Jon got married!!!. It was so fun, we were there from Thursday to Sunday. The wedding was beautiful, it was held at a place that looked like an old plantation. Carter was great, he stayed in his normal routine...and he got to watch a dvd in the car for the first time. We took Grandma H with us to be the nanny for the weekend as well.

A Great time was had by all.

We celebrated all the July birthday's in the family at Greg and Kara's house this past weekend. It was a great time hanging out with the family.

Summer...

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the major slacking in the blogging department, I haven't had a ton of extra time to sit down and do this. We have been having a great summer with Carter. He absolutely loves the water and more importantly he loves the lake water! He is for sure a water baby, which is great since we have been spending most of our weekends at Crooked Lake. He doesn't like to just hang out in a floatie of course...he likes to lay on his belly and kick and splash with is legs and arms.

Carter is finally starting to get his two upper teeth to pop through, I feel so bad for him during this time. He is pretty much like clock work with naps and bedtime, but these teeth are really throwing things off...I guess we need to remember that it's only temporary.

He seems to be getting closer to walking, he is starting to try and stand up on his own, he likes to walk behind one of his push toys and he is pulling himself up on everything. He is starting to say his first word...which is..."mama," I love it! He looks right at me and mouths it a few times before he actually says it, it's so dang cute. I cannot belive his birthday is coming up, this year has flown by! I think I decided that our birthday theme is going to be Elmo, he seems to really like his Elmo doll, he is always hugging him and giving him kisses...so I figure we can't go wrong with Elmo.

Father's Day and Indian Lake

Hi everyone -

Well we had a fun weekend, we headed up to Indian Lake to stay with Great Aunt Sherri and family! Carter had a blast, he loves the water and enjoyed hanging out with Cass, Sherri and Rick. We hung out on the boat on both Saturday and Sunday. See pics below.

Today is Seth's first Father's Day, he is such a great dad to Carter! Carter picked out a wheelbarrow and a charcoal grill for his dad...Seth loved the gifts!

Thanks to Uncle Greg and Aunt Kara for watching Hoosier for the weekend, he was a good boy for them...but of course when we get home and I open the door to the car, he bolts out and decided to go on a 30 minute run throughout the neighborhood! grrrrr!

Carter and the lake...

Carter has been to our lake cottage on Crooked Lake two times now, he really loves the lake and he seems well adjusted up there...thank goodness, it would have made for a long summer if he didn't enjoy being up there. We had his 9 month appointment last week, he is doing great. He weighs 18lbs, he has pretty much been in the 70 or 75th percentile for weight and height, but he is now in the 25th percentile for weight...which is crazy, this kid eats all the time! I guess it's because he is becoming more active. He is pulling himself up on things and he is officially crawling the correct way, he started doing that over Memorial Day weekend. Here are some pictures. Enjoy.

Getting caught up...

I have been such a bad blogger these days...let's see what I can get everyone caught up on. First off, I had a fabulous first Mother's Day...actually a great Mother's Day weekend, we took our mom's to the Cork and Cleaver for dinner on Saturday night for a yummy meal. And then on Sunday Carter and Seth made me breakfast in bed and they also gave me my gift. Carter helped Seth pick out a beautiful necklace...it was perfect. And then later that afternoon we went to Seth's aunt's house for a dinner with all the Middleton mom's and family.

Carter is such a litte ham, he is growing up so fast. He now has two teeth and he is officially pulling himself up. He loves standing up in his crib now, every morning when we go up to get him he's standing up with a big grin on his face and usually a couple of red spots on his head b/c he fell over while trying to get up...he doesn't cry though, he's a tough little guy.

We have started introducing him to solid foods. He tried some scrambled eggs for his first real people meal, he was okay with them...he mostly wore the eggs. He has had pancakes, bread, bananas and crackers...we haven't really come across anything that he doesn't like.

Swim lessons...

Carter had his first swim lesson at the YMCA on Saturday morning, he absolutely loved it, which wasn't a huge surprise to Seth and I...he loves his bath time every night as well. He got a little cranky at the end of the lesson mostly because he was cold  and tired. He took an extra long nap on Saturday; he slept from 10:30 to 2:30! We are looking forward to this coming Saturday as well! Enjoy some of the pics that I took...as you can see Carter is taking lessons with his buddy Camden.

Easter weekend...

Carter had a fun Easter weekend, he got all dressed up on Easter morning, we went to church and then headed up north to Great Grandma Richardson's for the afternoon.

It's been a while...

Well, it has been a while since my last post...we have been very busy. Carter has hit some milestones since my last post. First off, we are now sitting up...and he is attempting to crawl, he props himself up like he's ready to take off and then he flops down on his belly! It's pretty funny, although Carter doesn't seem to think its funny all the time, he gets upset after trying and trying to move on his own with no luck! He will be on the move soon, I know it! He also is starting to show his first tooth...he has been a little grumpy b/c of this, but for the most part he is such a happy little guy. I am going to post some of Carter's 6 month pics that we just got back...they turned out great!
